OVERVIEW
Often the biggest barrier between a teenager and his or her
goals is a lack of self-belief and support. To encourage this
essential self-confi dence Reach run workshops, weekends
away and large-scale events instilling feelings of self-belief
in teenagers.
Our specially trained Crew of inspirational young leaders run
16 different programs for over 45,000 young people across
Australia each year, helping them connect with each other.
Independent research shows that Reach helps teenagers to
improve overall levels of self-esteem, optimism, and feelings
of control over their lives.
BACKGROUND
The Reach Foundation (Reach), a Victorian based non-profit
organisation, was established in 1994 by Jim Stynes (AFL
Brownlow Medalist, OAM and Victorian of the Year 2003) and
Paul Currie (drama coach and fi lm director). Reach seeks to
build young people’s confi dence and self-esteem, in order to
prevent negative emotions and destructive behaviours that can
lead to problems such as alcohol, drug abuse, delinquency
and suicide.
Yours sincerely,
